When: Dec 07 2010

Presenting:  Jamie Sumner, Strategic Planning Manager, Anti-Theft Services, Intel

The boundaries separating work, home and play have become more and more blurred. Mobility, once a nice-to-have capability, is increasingly important for business strategy, while, simultaneously increasing risk of theft and data loss.

Companies developing their end-point security strategies have to consider office, transit, and home usage; they also need to understand the exposure that they face, which is shaped by industry and circumstance. As we look to 2011, we see Best-in-Class companies assessing these risks and, to avoid the astronomical costs associated with data breaches, implementing a multilayered approach to securing their endpoints. We expect a transition from being simply educated and informed to actively minimizing negative impacts to the business, while receiving the benefits of the new, mobile paradigm. Jamie Sumner, a 19-year industry veteran, is the Strategic Planning Manager for the Anti-Theft Services business unit at Intel Corporation. He drives the roadmap and features for this organization that is responsible for driving hardware-based innovation relevant to data and PC protection to help solve difficult security challenges for enterprises. The Anti-Theft team is about to launch the third generation of Intel® Anti-Theft Technology.
