February 5, 2013 - CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that it has again been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention.* Gartner positions vendors in the Leaders quadrant based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.
In the report "Gartner defines content-aware data loss prevention (DLP) technologies as those that, as a core function, perform content inspection of data at rest or in motion, and can execute responses — ranging from simple notification to active blocking — based on policy settings. To be considered, products must support sophisticated detection techniques that extend beyond simple keyword matching and regular expressions."
Gartner analysts evaluated CA DataMinder (formerly CA DLP) for this report, and it is the second consecutive year CA Technologies has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant.
"CA DataMinder's ability to locate and classify enterprise data and control its use based on the content makes it an essential component of our content-aware identity and access management solution strategy," said Mike Denning, general manager, Security, CA Technologies. "We believe our positioning in the 'Leaders' quadrant of Gartner's report confirms the strength of our solutions and highlights the positive evolution of our strategy."
