The Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) has appointed Dan Moore as its new Head of Strategy and Intelligence.

Dan is currently Director of Rail Strategy and Analysis at the Department for Transport (DfT), having previously worked at the Competition and Markets Authority.

Dan will start work at the PSR on 15 January 2024 and will also be part of the PSR’s executive team. Further biographical information can be found below.

In his new role at the PSR Dan will lead the Strategy and Intelligence division which focuses on understanding current and future trends in payments, both in the UK and internationally. This informs the delivery of our five-year Strategy and identifies new areas that the PSR should be focusing on.

Biographical information

At the DfT Dan led a broad range of strategy, analysis, and innovation projects across rail - delivering positive outcomes at a time of massive change and challenge - particularly as rail responded to Brexit and the Covid pandemic. This ranged from delivering major rail funding decisions, through to rail regulatory strategy and supporting international rail.
