The Wisconsin court system's computer network was recently targeted by hackers, according to court officials who made a statement on Thursday.

The cyberattack started early in the week and has caused intermittent service disruptions or slower response times from online services, as reported by court officials. Tom Sheehan, a court spokesman, revealed that he did not have any additional information on when the attack started or if it's still ongoing in an email.

The statement also included a warning for attorneys or self-represented litigants who might experience issues with filing documents electronically. They were advised to contact the clerk of court in their respective counties, indicating that the attack was ongoing on Thursday afternoon.

Randy Koschnick, the Director of State Courts, stated in the release that the court system has taken effective countermeasures but did not elaborate further.

Despite the cyberattack, the statement from the state Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Ziegler assured the public that the hackers did not breach any data, and court operations across the state continue as usual.
