The Account Director is responsible for leading the customer/prospect strategy and owns the commercial relationship with assigned customers.  Reporting to the Director of Sales the Account Director is expected to achieve sales goals by uncovering and closing new business with both current customers and prospects. In addition they will be responsible for the maintenance of a robust pipeline with predictable long term success.

SUMMARY

  • For a client in the information business, based in New York.
  • Two positions available: One selling to the Banking and Securities industries, the other to the Insurance industry.
  • Salaries for each, 90 K.  Bonus and commission plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uncover and close new business in customers and prospects. 
  • New sales responsibility.
  • Commercial ownership of customers within territory
  • Compliance to all policies with particular emphasis on CRM and reporting without exception
  • Lead overall customer prospect strategy and commercial relationshipProficient in products/domain
  • Tested solutions "collaborative" seller
  • Skillful negotiation

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE:

  • Proven top performer in related industry.
  • Ability to articulate selling philosophy.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and marshal resources effectively.
  • A minimum of 3 years selling in related industry where sales training was a centerpiece to development.
  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong negotiation skills.
