The Handala hacking group, linked to Iranian intelligence, claims to have breached Israel’s police force, stealing 2.1 terabytes of sensitive data, including personnel records, weapons inventories, medical files, and legal case documents. The group says it publicly released 350,000 records.
The data allegedly includes email addresses, gun licenses, officer photos, and classified documents. Handala also claims to have accessed police officers' personal files and breached the Israeli Ministry of National Security.
Israeli police deny direct system infiltration, suggesting a third-party breach. An investigation is ongoing.
This follows a series of Handala cyberattacks on Israeli institutions, including a phishing campaign in October 2024, a nuclear research center attack in September, and a January 2025 breach of an emergency alert system affecting 20 kindergartens.
On February 9, 2025, Handala taunted Israel on BreachForums, boasting of their success and reiterating their slogan:
"Handala does not forget. Handala does not forgive."
